Make My Day

Coach Mike Raynor of the Mercer Bears invited Taylor to help bring the team some good luck by watching the game from inside the dugout. As always "T" did her job and the Bears spanked up on the other team. So she now has permanent invitation. So why is this in my "Make My Day" collection? Could I be any happier than seeing that smile? Going ... Going ... Gone!!!! If you are going to go to a college "exposure" tournament you might as well "expose" yourself by denting the fence a few times and hey why not drive one over while you are at it, like Mari did today. As I shared in my home run derby photos, Mari is just a blessing to work with because she is so driven, so passionate about softball, works so hard and has big dreams. And you know I love girls that dream and are willing to work hard to make it happen.

For my other students - Be sure to look at the photo as large as you can and look at the form: firm front leg, weight back, she drove the bug down through the ground, seam in her pants is straight up, she's still got the top of the front hand on top so she can follow through, and she's kissing her shoulder to. Also be sure to send me your photos so that I can tell the whole world that I'm awfully proud of "my girls" because they just flat out ROCK!!! She got all of that one. If you are going to have to end the fall season on a gorgeous day today you might as well go out swinging and Jessie Oates sure did her job at the plate. Still kissing the shoulder and the ball is already on the way deeeeeeeeeeep.
Another shot of Jessie today and what I love about this one is that she's already CRUSHED the ball, is following through and she has so much bat speed that the catcher and umpire are still focused dead ahead waiting for the ball to get there. Now that's HITTING 4 SPEED. CONGRATULATIONS to Amber Carr the 2009 Batting Extravaganza Batting AND Bunting Champion.

The memorable thing wasn't that she won either of the awards, it was that she told me on her way in the door before it started that she WAS going to win both of the awards. Always impressed with girls that can visualize and then make it happen.
